I have begun purchasing the large blue barrels to collect rainwater. I’ve watched so many different YouTube videos on how to set them up. And have read many posts. There are endless ways and suggestions - how to daisy chain them in sequence, with or without a pump, how high must they be to get good drainage. Some encourage using them upside down. I’m sure they all work, but there’s no way of knowing really which is best.
It would be great if the SCRD were to put on some workshops to encourage homeowners to do this and to demonstrate how, with the best method. In Vancouver the city sold rain barrels for a reduced price, worm composting bins, etc. Some areas put on composting workshops, etc. Just the water barrel instructions would be so helpful.
