As someone who helped raise money for the Coopers Green Hall, as someone who remembers that the Welcome Beach Hall proceeds were to go towards a new or updated hall at Coopers Green, I find it deplorable that SCRD directors would even entertain the idea of building a new hall at Connor Park with those funds.
Those funds were meant to benefit Coopers Green, not Connor Park. If the powers-that-be want a park in Welcome Woods, then get the money together and build it, but do not steal the thousands of hours of volunteer labour and donations that have gone into raising money for improvements to the Coopers Green Hall. A simple project has turned into a bureaucratic boondoggle.
