Leave dates on receipts

We would like to give an important message to all those who donate their grocery receipts to the food banks - the receipts must have the date on them. This is required because the receipts cannot be more than one year old.

We would like to give an important message to all those who donate their grocery receipts to the food banks - the receipts must have the date on them. This is required because the receipts cannot be more than one year old.

Unfortunately, we who sort and tally the receipts find many receipts - and lots with large totals - have the date torn off. We believe that this is because people tear off their debit/credit transaction receipts from the bottom of the grocery receipts. It is understandable that you want to tear this part of the receipt off to protect your privacy; however, what you may not know is that the IGA Marketplace and Super Valu receipts only have the dates on the bottom.

So while we thank you for your receipts, we ask that you please remember to leave the dates on.
