In January 2009 after visiting our daughter and grandson in Halfmoon Bay we planned on leave the Sunshine Coast, take the ferry to Horseshoe Bay then drive to Abbotsford airport and return home to Calgary.

When we got up in the morning it had started to snow. We started out on a road towards Sechelt that was not the main highway.

It was snowing hard and beginning to accumulate on the road. We could not make it up a hill, so decided to turn around and go back to the main highway, only we ran into another hill on the way. A half-ton truck with three young men came along and offered to pull us up the hill. We thanked them and they continued in front of us until we reached a branch in the road and we took the road to the main highway and they took the road to the left.

We drove towards Sechelt on the main highway and the snow continued to fall. We saw cars that had "spun out" on hills and then we came to another hill that we could not go up. We turned around and tried it again and again we could not make it up the hill.

Suddenly we saw a familiar half-ton truck. It stopped, backed up and once again our three "angels" put a towrope on the vehicle and towed us up the hill. We offered them a reward, but they would accept nothing.

I have no idea what we would have done if these three wonderful young men would not have helped us. They are a great example of kindness in action.
