Concerning the "political" content of Dr. Seuss' Yertle the Turtle.

This has nothing to do with the kids. This has everything to do with someone's personal agenda.

Pretty well every story Dr. Seuss wrote has political meaning, and can be made to fit any situation.

If adults would leave these types of stories alone, kids wouldn't notice.

Almost all fairy tales and nursery rhymes are political. And Charles Dickens certainly is.

Daisy Duck and Donald have been banned in some places because of the unknown Parentage of their three nephews. Bert and Ernie have been 'accused' of being gay. Kids didn't come up with this adults did. Kids of 'Yertle' age don't care about the teacher's strike, or politics in general, nor should they be made to.

Read it again. Yertle is really an anti-bullying campaign.

Read into it what you will, but who is bullying whom?

I agree the teachers should get a fair deal, but at whose expense?

Is this about the kids really?
