The other day while hiking in my usual spot on the back side of Mount Elphinstone, I came across a newly dumped pile of garbage. I was immediately able to find several pieces of mail with the same name andaddress on it. I took pieces of this mail to the police station in Gibsons and the police officer said he could do nothing for me, even if I was able to get a phone number attached to the address. Maybe the owner of the mail did not dump it themselves? Who knows, but with a phone call and a bit of investigation work we could easily find theculprit.
Most illegally dumped stuff is household trash and will contain an address. I guess we need to take action into our own hands and march up to these houses ourselves.
