Highway project a waste of money

One of the nicest things that has happened at Davis Bay is that lovely beach promenade with all the parking lots.

The local Highways are going to install left turn lanes and take away some of the parking lots. I think this is an ill-conceivedand unnecessary project and I doubt if anyone at Davis Bay agrees with it. Meanwhile, the so-called by-pass in Langdale is decadesaway.

I have written to the Minister of Highways that if this is the case, we deserve at least to have a second lane built along Stewart and North roads between the top of the hilland Reed Road and then to restore the four lanes to Gibsons Way. Would it not be far wiser to spend the proposed $2.5 million there instead of on the Davis Bay project? This is surely the most important highway problem on the Coast, is it not? The proposed Davis Bay project certainly isn't anywhere near as important and in my opinion is a waste of good money.
