Great column Brent. There are many dedicated volunteers in our community and that was a wonderful way to recognize them.
I'd like to point out a correction in that we have raised over $140,000 for the project (not $300,000 as you stated).
It would bean interesting exercise to calculate the true value of the project by including in-kind donations of tradespeople and volunteer hours whichwould put our number higher, but not as high as $300K. I do choose to deflect some thanks back to the Sunshine Coast Regional District for the effort they put into the Shirley Macey Park project. Although their staff are not unpaid, they have shown great commitment to completing our project and account forthe largest pieceof the in-kind financial assistance we received.
