Considering all the bad press that B.C. Ferries gets, I would like to commend the captain on the 7:30 p.m. run from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale last week.

When we got to Langdale the hydraulics on the ramp would not work. As we sat there waiting for repairs, the captain made sure that we were all notified at least every 15 minutes of what was happening. He then made an announcement that everyone could go up for a free hot drink.

After about an hour and a half with no repairs, he notified everyone that he was returning to Horseshoe Bay to pick up the last of the passengers and that if we wanted, the ferry would supply us with hot food, gratis. I think he was very accommodating and thoughtful towards a lot of tired passengers that evening, and I would like to thank him.
