The provincial government wants to appeal the "gag law" (Bill 42) in the interest of fair elections, according to Mike De Jong. In other words, they want the citizens of B.C. to hear only their messages.

I guess that would be messages such as: B.C. will weather the recession better than the rest of Canada; there will be no cuts to education; we care about the people of B.C. so we will cut sports programs, senior programs and handicap programs; we will increase hospital surgical wait times; and we will spend millions on this court case to "gag" the citizens of B.C.

The reason these provincial Liberals and especially Gordon Campbell want this gag order in place is to shut down the truth from the people who hold their fate in their hands, the voters.

Seems to me not only are the Liberals liars, but one now can add the handle cowards to their titles too. What are you afraid of Gordon Campbell? Oh yeah - the truth.

I would suggest the honourable thing for all Liberal MLAs and Campbell to do is resign. Unfortunately the definition of the word "honourable" as applied to public officials is "of good name or public esteem, "neither of which applies to this group of politicians.

So just resign and forget about the honourable part.

Shayne Gordon
