Water shortage, its preservation and the protection of our watershed were the subjects of your June 12 editorial.
The editorial was important and timely. It was published coinciding with the two-year anniversary of the concerned citizens blockade in the watershed, starting on June 11, 2007.
Despite the public's demonstrated opposition to industrial activity in our watershed, the consequent Supreme Court decision went against the regional district attempts to protect it.
In the ensuing two years, concerned citizens remain vigilant and determined to see permanent legal protection of our watershed.
In the meantime, any threat to the source of our water supply, whether from private or quasi-government agencies, will be resisted by all available means.
