Re: West Sechelt connector public meeting (Coast Reporter, Sept. 24).

I attended the Sept. 9 meeting. Notably missing from the Sept. 24 article was the suggestion by citizens not to build yet another road, but instead, to just build the bypass. The bypass route is already surveyed - it would intersect the proposed Tyler Road routes, facilitate travel from a significant area of growth and not interfere with an established residential area.

Further, although the size of the proposed connector road was smaller than the proposed bypass road, the connector could be upgraded later - assuming the bypass from Langdale is ever actually built. Also missing from the article is many attendees' opinion that a bike/walking path from West Sechelt is a better, greener option for travel to the city centre. Because of the number of times these suggestions were repeated, they should also be made public and merit consideration.
