Editor:
Thank you to all the people who have sat in Davis Bay for the past month and kept us informed of the background of this project to "improve Davis Bay."
After attending the Thursday, Oct. 7, public meeting - or shall I say sales and marketing presentation - I can only say I feel disappointed in the process of council and the short-sightedness of this proposal.
Afraid of losing millions in "improvement" money, we concede to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure and improve an area where clearly the people, the environment and the beauty of our Coast are in question. Not only that, we put more of our precious resources into meeting the funds donated to snow the public for an upgraded sea walk.
Let's be clear - these are our tax dollars at work, which is exactly what the large and obnoxious sign will say when the shovels hit the ground.
Joel Barker said: "Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is simply passing the time. Action with vision is making a positive difference."
We all know there are stretches of the Sunshine Coast Highway that require improvement for the safety of all who travel it.
I invite this council to stop passing time and take action with vision.
Slow the process down. Speed really does kill beauty, the environment and health.
