I would like to respond to Jacquie Davis' letter (Coast Reporter, May 15). Ms. Davis complained about the "peaceniks" holding their weekly demonstration at the Davis Bay pier. I am very sorry to hear she was disturbed by the "flapping" and the "honking" - horrified to discover her "panorama" was interrupted.
I have to wonder what Ms. Davis would say if one of her children were serving in a war zone where she thought they shouldn't be. I wonder what she would say if her panorama was interrupted by small weapons fire or bombs going off. I wonder what she would do if the reality of war ever hit her doorstep.
I think she would be hoping that, somewhere in the world, there were some "peaceniks" interrupting someone else's panorama.
