What a beautiful event we enjoyed on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Dougall Park in Gibsons. The New Moon Festival, organized mostly by Asian women, was delightful in the variety of high quality performances from hip-hop to classical Indian music and dance, from Taiko drumming to a shadow puppet performance in the evening.
This was a lovely family event with arts and crafts for the kids as well as the adults making lanterns for the parade later in the day. Hot delicious food was available, and an interesting education section as well.
Congratulations to the organizers and many volunteers for such a rich afternoon. What a great cultural celebration at the end of the summer.
