LINZ, Austria — Canadian ice dancers Nadiia Bashynska and Peter Beaumont won bronze on Saturday, their second medal on the ISU Junior Grand Prix figure skating circuit.
The duo from Ajax, Ont., were fourth after Thursday's rhythm dance but climbed a spot with a solid free dance to score 152.06 points.
Sofya Tyutyunina and Alexander Shustikskiy of Russia won the gold with 162.28 points, while Americans Oona Brown and Gage Brown were second (152.74).
"We are really satisfied with our skating and very happy to make it to the podium," said Bashynska, who was born in Ukraine.
Bashynska and Beaumont won a bronze on the Grand Prix circuit in 2019. They were fourth at their previous Grand Prix assignment this season.
"’We had the mindset that we've moved up in the standings before and we can do it again," said the British-born Beaumont. "We had a great free skate at our previous event and took that confidence and composure to get the medal."
Emma Goodstadt of Oakville, Ont., and Michael Barsoum of Toronto finished 13th.
Sara-Maude Dupuis of Montreal was 10th in women's singles in her international debut. Sofia Muravieva of Russia won the gold.
