The Chinook Swim Team recently returned from the two-day Whistler Invitational swim meet on May 28 and 29.
The small but passionate group of 16 swimmers aged nine to 15 excelled, not only in a group, but during their own individual performances. They scored high placements in their categories, often breaking their personal records from previous meets. One female relay team and two male relay teams well exceeded expectations in this category, again placing high.
The weekend boasted almost 300 swimmers in total from the Lower Mainland and the Chinook team represented the Sunshine Coast with solid results.
The coaches’ knowledge and technical expertise were integral in the skill development of the team’s swimmers and their presence over the weekend was much appreciated.
