The Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association (SCYSA) is thrilled to announce the hiring of Aloysius Adolf as its new technical director (TD). This pivotal role has been vacant for more than 18 months since the departure of the association’s previous TD, Ken Campbell, in 2023. After an extensive search, SCYSA is ecstatic to welcome Aloysius to the team, confident that his impressive experience, qualifications, and leadership will support taking the club’s development to new heights. Aloysius will begin working with the SCYSA team in February and is set to join the community in person in March.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have found Aloysius,” said Sharon Norris, president of SCYSA. “Filling the technical director position has been a top priority for the past year and a half, and Aloysius’ extensive coaching background and passion for player development make him the perfect fit for our community. We believe he will bring invaluable expertise that will benefit both our coaches and players as we continue to grow and evolve.”
Aloysius arrives at SCYSA with a wealth of experience in coaching, player development, and sports management. Some of his qualifications include, CONCACAF A License (in progress), Canada Soccer B License, Canada Soccer Youth License, UEFA B License (in progress), UEFA C License, and Respect in Sport and Safe Sport Training. In his career, Aloysius has specialized in the identification, recruitment, development and management of talented soccer players. His experience spans both elite youth and senior soccer, with work across North America and Africa. He is committed to fostering an environment that promotes long-term player development and a positive culture for the entire soccer community.
The TD role focuses on providing technical leadership to the club’s coaching staff and volunteers. While he will not be directly coaching teams, he will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing the club’s technical plan. Through on-field visits and regular interactions with coaches and players, Aloysius will work to enhance long-term player development program, ensuring that coaches are supported and players are empowered to reach their full potential.
“We are excited to begin this new chapter with Aloysius,” said Greg Crompton, sponsorship director of SCYSA. “His approach to development and commitment to improving coaching and player performance aligns with the club’s values. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our club’s vision and strengthening the soccer community on the Sunshine Coast.”
“I am beyond excited to join the Sunshine Coast Youth Soccer Association,” said Aloysius. “This is an amazing opportunity to come in and contribute to a club with such a rich tradition and a bright future. My focus will be on fostering a culture of excellence, development, and collaboration—working closely with coaches, players, and the community to elevate our programs to the next level. Together, we’ll build a foundation for long-term success both on and off the field.”
