The Suncoast Flyers punched their ticket into the Men's A-division hockey final, while the Inlet Raiders and Rangers need a third game tonight (March 27) to decide their fate.
The Flyers swept the Powerclean Outlaws in two games in their best-of-three semifinal series this week.
Suncoast won game one 5-4 on Wednesday night, then followed that up with a 5-1 win in game two on Thursday night.
Drew Johnson led the way in game one with two goals and one assist, while Connor McCarthy, Blake Randall and Mike Lewis chipped in with singles.
Jamie McPhail, Adam Mercer, Graeme Estey and Dan Fitchell scored in a losing cause for the Outlaws. Gage Gregory added three assists, while Mercer chipped in with a pair of helpers.
Randall scored a pair of goals in Thursday's win, while McCarthy, Sean Davie and Daryl Baker added singles.
Mercer scored the lone goal for the Outlaws.
In the other series, the Rangers are giving the Raiders all they can handle.
Rangers won game one of the series 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Jason Wilson, Bob Knight, Tom Bailey and Alex Peters provided the offense for the Rangers.
Darren Kohuch and Bryan Poulsen scored for the Raiders.
In game two on Thursday night, the Raiders forced a third and final game in the series with a 4-1 win.
Robb Stockwell, Bill Stockwell, Tom Poulton and Wade Fisher scored the goals. Poulton also added a pair of assists in the game.Glenn Allen scored the lone goal for the Rangers.
The final game of the series is set for tonight, March 27, with a 10 p.m. face-off at the Sunshine Coast Arena.
The winner of that game faces the Flyers in the A-division final, which gets underway on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Game two of the final is Friday night at 8:30 p.m. with a possible third game next Saturday at 9:15 p.m.
