Ronald Keith Gutkin, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Sechelt  Hospital with his beloved wife, Patti, steadfastly  holding his hand.  Ron, or Ronnie (as he was known to friends  and family), was born on June 27, 1943, to Max  and Doris Gutkin in Winnipeg, MB. Always an  excellent student, Ron received degrees in  Zoology and Law from the University of British  Columbia and eventually went on to become a  partner in Siddall & Company, where he worked  for many years and forged many strong  friendships with his coworkers and clients. This  is also where he met his lifelong partner, Patti,  with whom he fell madly in love 33 years ago.  Ron is survived by his sister Linda (Harold),  wife Patti, stepdaughter Kelly, son Adam, niece  Jennifer, nephew Jeremy, mother-in-law Moira,  and his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and  Dianne. He will be loved and remembered by  innumerable friends, family members, past  clients and coworkers.  Ron was an avid reader, sports fan, lover of  good jokes and purveyor of the world's best  hugs. He had an incredible laugh and would  often laugh until his eyes watered. He loved  vacationing in Hawaii, swimming and  bodysurfing in the cool water and playing diving  games with Kelly. Ron had a quick wit that he  retained until the very end and the most kind  and generous heart. He looked as good in a suit  and tie as he did in shorts and a Tommy  Bahama shirt (a feat not many can achieve). He  had excellent taste in music but loved to change  the words to songs and sing those instead.  He will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle  spirit and generosity that he shared with his  friends and family. He loved each of them, and  they adored him. Patti and Kelly will think of him  every single day, and he will live on in their  hearts forever.  A small, family-only service will be  held on Wednesday, and a larger  celebration of life will be held once the  family has had more time to mourn.
