The Lagoon Society presents the seventh annual Wood Duck Festival at Ruby Lake this Sunday. The event has something for the whole family running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 7.
Always a popular event, the festival features a fantastic line-up of guest speakers and local musicians including Gutbucket Thunder, Soup Bean Katie, Sokole and many more. Local artists and artisans will exhibit their wares alongside wilderness and conservation groups and a kids' craft area with lots of fun activities. Visit the Lagoon Society table for lots of information and an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to win a diamond pendant.
Hosted at Ruby Lake Resort, the festival will also feature an early bird walking tour. Meet at the car park with Tony Greenfield at 8:30 a.m. and stay for an Italian barbecue lunch at 1 p.m.
The festival will also feature a bird call competition, back by popular demand.
The focus this year is the newly opened Iris Griffith Centre - featuring guided tours and activities for kids young and old. Come see what's planned at the centre. For more information see www.lagoonsociety.com.
