From 11 a.m. to sunset this Sunday will be all about the Wood Ducks in Ruby Lake. The community is invited to attend the fifth annual Ruby Lake Lagoon Wood Duck and Wilderness Festival.
Guided hikes will be offered at 8:30 a.m. with a birders' hike followed by a field study site and guided walk at 10 .m.This year's theme is the launch of the Iris Griffith Field Studies and Interpretive Centre project.
There will also be a children's craft area, artisans, wilderness and conservation organization exhibitors, natural products, plants and crafts on display.
Loads of entertainment will be served up as Joe Stanton, Sokole, Jean-Pierre Makosso's African dancers and drummers, Myth Makers Puppet Show, Ten Bear band, Larry Cook and the Bluesmasters and Soupbean Katie and Cornpone Fiddlers are all on the menu.
And don't forget the authentic Milanese home-style barbecue lunch at 1 p.m.
