Dust off the snow shovels.
Environment Canada has issued two weather alerts for Monday and Tuesday, predicting that a series of storms will bring winter weather conditions to B.C’s South Coast.
The first, a wind warning for Monday Jan. 8, with wind speeds gusting up to 90km/h.
A strong frontal system developing over the Pacific will impact the B.C Coast Jan. 8, with the strongest winds in the evening.
The storm is expected to pass through by midnight.
The second alert, a special weather statement, said there is a potential for snow at sea level along the coastal sections of the South Coast followed by heavy rain. Snow accumulations for inland sections and higher terrain of the Central and South Coasts may occur.
Environment Canada predicts that the Coast may receive up to 4 cm of snow Monday, with southeast winds of 20km/h gusting up to 60 by the afternoon.
Today the Coast can expect to see a high of 4C and a low of 1.
Temperatures are predicted to rise to 8C for Tuesday and 6C on Wednesday, however, the wind and the rain are expected to stay for the rest of the week when the temperature drops back.
Currently, Environment Canada predicts the temperature will drop on Thursday, going as low as - 3C on Saturday, Jan. 13, and with that comes the possibility of flurries of snow lasting until Sunday, Jan. 14.
