Early on May 19, a break and enter occurred at a business in the 5500 block of Wharf Road Sechelt. The suspect used a large rock to gain entry into the building and staff later determined about a dozen bottles of liquor had been stolen. The file is still under investigation.

A witness reported seeing a youth jumping on top of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Gibsons Way, damaging the roof. The suspect fled, but was identified, so police will be following up with him.

A single-vehicle accident occurred in the 11600 block of Highway 101 when a northbound vehicle came around the corner, crossed the centre line, lost control and skidded into the southbound ditch. The driver received minor injuries and the vehicle had to be towed. All four tires on the vehicle were found to be bald or nearly bald, so the owner was issued a violation ticket for operating an improperly equipped vehicle.

A two-vehicle accident occurred in the 3200 block of Highway 101 after a vehicle pulled onto the highway suddenly in front of a northbound vehicle. None of the parties sustained serious injuries, but both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed from the scene. The driver, who pulled out onto the highway, was issued a ticket for failing to yield for a vehicle.

Sometime between May 14 and 19, thieves broke into a storage locker at a business near Sechelt Inlet Crescent and Sechelt Inlet Road and stole a large variety of tools including impact wrenches, skill saws, a Tyobi cut off saw, Dewalt drill, Makita battery driver, impact sockets and sheet metal cutting material. A single-vehicle accident occurred in the 6400 block of Norwest Bay Road in Sechelt after a vehicle drove off the road, entered a ditch, struck a hydro pole, drove through a garden and through and fence, and eventually came to a stop after hitting a tree. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on her own, but the vehicle had to be towed. The driver believes she may have fallen asleep.

On May 21, staff at a business in the 900 block of Gibsons Way caught a shoplifter who had victimized the business the day before. This time, staff were able to confront the suspect, who returned the stolen items, but was otherwise uncooperative. The suspect has been banned from the business.

Sometime May 20 and 21, a suspect entered unlocked vehicles parked in the 1200 block of Fitchett Road and rummaged through the contents. Nothing was stolen from any of the cars, but in one case, a diving knife that had been left in the console was used to damage the vehicle interior.

Early on May 25, police were dispatched to a commercial alarm at Sears on Inlet Ave. in Sechelt. Police attended and confirmed the alarm to be a result of a break and enter. One 46" Samsung television, two 40" Samsung televisions and one Sony DVD player were stolen from the store.
