Several calls were received about fraudulent emails supposedly sent from the Canada Revenue Agency and Canada Post. Police remind the public again to be very wary of any emails from such agencies and financial institutions, as it is very unlikely these organizations would send out emails. Do not open any links inside the email and check directly with the organization yourself to confirm its authenticity. A possible impaired driver was reported on Highway 101 near Pratt Road after a witness reported a driver swerving his vehicle towards pedestrians and bicycles and throwing beer cans out the window. The officer located the suspect vehicle nearby and found the male "N" driver in possession of alcohol. The driver was given a roadside alcohol screen test, which resulted in a 12-hour driving and a violation ticket for consumption of alcohol by a minor. The driver's parent was called to collect him.

Early on June 4, a RCMP member noticed a male walking from behind a building in the 800 block of Gibsons Way carrying a jerry can and a hose. The officer stopped the male and determined the jerry can was full. The male admitted to having syphoned gas from a vehicle. The male returned the gas to the vehicle.

A shoplifter was reported at a business in the 4300 block of Highway 101 after staff witnessed a male leave the premises with merchandise he had not paid for. Staff detained him in the parking lot and escorted him back to the business to await police. The file is still under investigation.

On June 2, a Coast resident received a call from a female purporting to be from a Lower Mainland police department, then she asked the resident to hold, and a recorded message came on advising the resident he'd won a contest. The resident hung up immediately and called police. RCMP contacted the named police agency, and they advised no such calls were being made to the public.

Overnight on May 31, a thief gained entry into two unlocked vehicles parked in the 1000 block of Fircrest Road and stole some change, a plug-in MP3 player adapter and an FM transmitter.

On May 31, a resident in the 7000 block of Sechelt Inlet Road reported that a bear was seen chewing and clawing at the rear bumper of his rental vehicle and had caused noticeable damage. Police confirmed the damage was clearly animal-made.

On May 31, a thief attempted to break and enter a residence in the 700 block of North Road. The suspect did not gain entry, but had cut through a window screen. On June 4, mischief was reported at a business in the 5600 block of Highway 101 after staff heard glass breaking and witnessed a young female suspect running out of a restroom. The suspect, described as a Caucasian female, approximately 5'4", was wearing a red jacket and carrying a skateboard. Police are reviewing security camera footage.
