Sunshine Coast RCMP reported the following for the week of Nov. 23 to 30:

On Nov. 23, someone stole a Motorola Milestone cell phone and rifled through a wallet while the owner left his backpack briefly unattended in a business in the 700 block of Park Road. RCMP will be following up with two possible suspects seen leaving the area shortly before the theft was discovered.

A resident in the 5800 block of Mukway reported that early on Nov. 14, he awoke to find an unknown male with a flashlight standing in his bedroom. The resident chased the male out of the house and then notified another resident in the house. They discovered the thief had stolen an iPhone 3 and a flashlight.

On Nov. 24, staff at a business in the 900 block of Gibsons Way witnessed a male throw something at a glass door and break it before running away. Staff, who had followed the suspect, were able to direct police to the suspect's location. The suspect initially denied the mischief, but then admitted to being responsible. Charges are being considered.

On Nov. 25, a three-vehicle accident occurred in the 900 block of Gower Point Road after a vehicle slid down a driveway covered in snow and ice directly into the path of a snow plow truck, and struck the driver's side front fender area. The snow plow, in an effort to avoid a direct collision, swerved to the side and struck a stationary trailer parked on the side of the road. No violation tickets were issued, as extreme weather was the main contributing factor in the incident. Unfortunately, the damage to the snow plow rendered it undriveable.

A single-vehicle accident occurred on the Trout Lake logging road after a truck lost control on a moderate grade section of the road, slid into a ditch, hit a stump, and flipped over. The driver and passenger sustained some injuries and were taken to hospital. The vehicle was towed.

A possible impaired driver was reported after paramedics attended a single-vehicle accident in the 13800 block of Highway 101 where the driver was found unconscious in his seat. The driver was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and the heavily damaged vehicle was towed. The investigation is ongoing.

A thief stole an iPhone 4 with a green case that had been left in a public room at a business in the 700 block of Park Road.

A speeding driver was witnessed by a police officer in the 10300 block of Highway 101. The vehicle was pulled over. The driver was unable to produce a valid B.C. driver's licence and advised his licence was actually expired. Further investigation revealed the driver was a vehicle impound candidate. He was issued a violation ticket and the vehicle was impounded.

On Nov. 26, a driver of a green truck was caught on surveillance stealing scrap metal from behind a business in the 5500 block of Inlet Avenue. Identification of the suspect was made by a third party and police will be following up with the suspect about the missing metal.
