The Sunshine Coast saw 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 between May 16 and 22 – a drop from the 18 cases reported for the previous week but still higher than surrounding regions.
The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) weekly case map for local health areas, updated Thursday, shows one case in Powell River from May 16 to 22, five cases in Howe Sound (which includes Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton) and three cases in West Vancouver.
The 10-case total for the Sunshine Coast is the same number of cases reported for the week of May 2 to 8. The 18 cases reported the following week represented a four-month high.
The BCCDC map notes cases are mapped by location of residence and that cases with unknown residence or from out of province are not included in the figures.
