Sometime last Friday night thieves helped themselves to between 60 and 100 pieces of lumber at the Habitat for Humanity build site in Gibsons. The loss is estimated at between $300 and $500. "It seems rather incredible that thieves would hit a charity like this, where volunteers are working to build affordable housing for families in need. It's a pretty low blow," said Bill Robinson, chair of the construction committee and build superintendent.

The theft was reported to the RCMP when it was discovered Saturday. If you have any information, please call the RCMP at 604-885-5877 and quote file number 2006-359 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
