A female and a male suspect have been arrested and remain in custody in relation to an Aug. 17 early morning break in at the convenience store at the Shell gas station located at 4330 Sunshine Coast Highway in Wilson Creek.

In an Aug. 21 release from Sunshine Coast RCMP, Cst. Karen Whitby, detachment media relations officer, reported that police attended and reviewed video surveillance from 1:15 a.m., which clearly showed a woman smash multiple windows with a rock to gain access to property in the store.

"The female and a male then reached inside the store and stole multiple ice cream bars. The damage to the store has been estimated at upwards of $5,000 to repair the windows and door," the release detailed.

Sunshine Coast RCMP have recommended a charge of break and enter for Stephanie Colquhoun and Mathew Stahl of Sechelt. The current charge has been approved by Crown counsel and both suspects are in custody.
