School District reopened schools Thursday following heavy snows on Wednesday. But, school buses are not running Thursday because of unsafe road conditions for large vehicles on side streets. "Caregivers are responsible for their child's safe travel to school. If for any reason a caregiver feels that a child cannot travel safely to school, they should make other arrangements for their child. Students will not be penalized for absences due to severe weather conditions," said the notice. "Please remember to contact your child’s school office if you decide to keep your child home from school."

The SCRD's main office on Field Road will open at 9:30 a.m. and its Electoral Area Services Committee meeting will proceed.

Pender Harbour Transfer Station and the Sechelt Landfill are closing for the rest of the day as more snow is causing some road issues.

As of 2:15 p.m. most buses are on regular routing: Routes 2, 4, 1 and 90 have regular routing. Route 3, Sechelt Arena, also has regular routing except for no service on Marine Way.
