A man has been arrested in connection to tools stolen from a building supply store in Gibsons.
According to the Sunshine Coast RCMP, on Aug. 17, they were advised that a man had stolen about $1,000 worth of tools from the store.
Police attended and reviewed surveillance video, which showed the suspect exit the store with tools without attempting to pay for them. An investigation determined the same suspect is believed to have stolen tools from a building supply store in Sechelt earlier that day.
A short time later, the Gibsons store alerted police that the suspect had returned. The suspect fled prior to police arrival, but was located and arrested in possession of a quantity of stolen tools. Charges of theft are being recommended to Crown Counsel.
