The Sunshine Coast didn't get nearly as much snow as was predicted Tuesday night, with some parts of the Coast getting no snow at all.

What did fall, close to five cm in some parts, was already beginning to wash away with rains hitting the area around 3 a.m. Rain and high winds are expected to stay in the forecast for much of the day on Wednesday and rain is in the forecast right up until next Tuesday with daytime highs between seven and nine degrees.

BC Hydro was working to restore power to some 2,000 residents in Sechelt with a major outage due to downed wires north of Barnacle Street. There were 192 residents without power east of Jervis Inlet Road and a few people without power in Egmont due to another downed wire.

According to BC Hydro, all power should be restored later this morning.
