Those commuting to and from the Lower Mainland by public transit will face another month of missed connections on the Sunshine Coast.
BC Transit sent out a service notice Feb. 28, notifying users that BC Ferries' March schedule change – seeing the ferry leaving Horseshoe Bay at 6:35 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. and leaving Langdale at 7:40 p.m. and 9:50 p.m – means that the bus service and ferry service will not align for those sailings this month.
"As this schedule is expected to only remain in place until March 31, BC Transit is unable to make schedule changes on such short notice for the routes 1 and 90 to match these new travel times," said the service notice. The current schedule remains in effect.
BC Ferries announced last week that it was extending its suspension of the 'L' run commuter service because of “expected crewing challenges in the months ahead” and “an effort to provide reliable ferry service.” That schedule change came into effect Jan. 28.
