The wildfire sparked in West Sechelt earlier this week has been put out.
Fire V53065 was updated as extinguished at 2:33 p.m. on Aug. 31.
A combination of bucketing support and an initial ground attack quickly contained and suppressed the fire.
Fire V53076 near Piper Point was moved to "under control" yesterday at 6:58 p.m.
BC Wildfire Service included that it was contained without much size increase.
Sechelt still has a number of small fires in its vicinity.
V53027 near Clowhom Lake, V53043 near Mt. Calder and V53097 near Vancouver River are still listed as "out of control" and are being monitored.
All of these small fires were started by the lightning event on Tuesday according to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).
BCWS explained that August is when B.C receives most of its lightning, and Tuesday's storm brought 50 per cent of this year's lightning strikes in the region.
Although these fires are listed as "out of control" they have shown no notable size increase.
While the fire near West Sechelt was on actionable ground, the remaining fires are in steep, remote terrain which make it difficult or unsafe for crews to access. BCWS explained that these fires are being carefully watched while plans develop.
