The shíshálh Nation by-election is fast approaching.
On Sept. 19, the Nation announced the by-election to appoint a new hehiwus (councillor) in response to one of its members, Shain Jackson, stepping down.
Initially, five candidates put their names forward, which dropped to three a few weeks into the race.
Coast Reporter reached out to the three candidates to learn more about their campaigns. The profiles for the candidates are as follows:
Advanced polls will be held on Nov. 12, from 2 to 6 p.m. Election day will be Nov. 18, and votes can be cast from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
All by-election events will take place at the shíshálh Nation community hall.
