The Cowrie Medical Clinic’s Saturday walk-in clinic is no more.
In an email to Coast Reporter last week, the clinic’s Dr. Kevin Koopman, who has handled the Saturday clinic since its inception in September 2023, stated the move was “due to numerous vexatious complaints and false allegations against my evidence-based prescribing habits.”
The clinic provided the lower Sunshine Coast’s only weekend non-emergency department access to doctors.
Koopman said he has no further comment.
