BC Ferries issued an announcement at 11:33 am on Wednesday, February 19, that the following round trip between Westview (Powell River) and Blubber Bay (Texada Island) terminals had been cancelled due to high winds in the Strait of Georgia.
11:50 am departing Blubber Bay
12:40 pm departing Westview
"We are currently monitoring the weather conditions with the goal of getting you underway as soon as it is safe to do so," the company stated in the announcement.
BC Ferries announced at 3 pm that weather conditions had improved enough for service to resume with the 3:30 sailing from Blubber Bay.
