On Tuesday, Feb. 18 at approximately 8:45 a.m., the Sunshine Coast RCMP were notified of a residential break and enter in the 5700 block of Surf Circle in Sechelt.
The homeowners were on vacation and neighbours noticed the doors to the house and shed were open and that the homeowner's vehicle, a black Acura SUV, normally parked in the driveway was missing.
Police attended and conducted a forensic exam of the residence and a short time later the stolen vehicle was located parked a few blocks away on Salmon Drive, also in Sechelt. RCMP arrested two people for possession of stolen property and are continuing to investigate, according to a Feb. 18 press release.
A large amount of property had been removed from the residence and police are still looking for a yellow Scott hard tail mountain bike, a black Cannondale hybrid road bike, a blue Trek hybrid road bike and a blue full-suspension Rocky Mountain bike, said the release.
Also stolen was camping gear, tents, kayak equipment, and tools, including a Stihl backpack blower, Stihl handheld blower, Stihl hedge trimmer and Honda lawnmower.
If anyone noted anything suspicious between 5 p.m. on Monday Feb. 17 and 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, or has security cameras in the area of Surf Circle, Trail Avenue and Salmon Drive, they are asked to contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP at 604-885-2266.
