Sunshine Coast RCMP were called to a disturbance at Friendship Park, located at 5665 Teredo Street on July 11 at approximately 4:40 p.m.
An adult female was attempting to force a teenage girl to go with her, saying she believed the young girl was her own daughter. Other teenagers intervened and prevented the abduction.
Police were on scene within minutes and the female was arrested without incident. Police spoke to the victims and several witnesses and criminal charges are being recommended. The female is currently in custody and there is no further risk to the public.
Police would like to thank all those who provided immediate assistance to the children.
