The B.C. Schizophrenia Society and the Provincial Educational Committee have developed a program, called Partnership Education, aimed at increasing the awareness of mental illness.
Experienced volunteers, including a mental health professional, a person who has schizophrenia and a relative of someone who has schizophrenia, will give a one-hour presentation to high school students and other interested organizations. The objectives of the presentation are to discuss early warning signs, reduce the stigma associated with mental illness and provide resources available for those affected by mental illness. The audience is encouraged to participate and ask questions.
Anyone interested in having a presentation of this program, please call Julie Skippon at 604-886-3534.
