Four candidates are campaigning to represent the Powell River-Sunshine Coast riding as MLA. General election day is October 19.

To conclude a three-part question and answer series, Randene Neill (BC NDP), Chris Moore (Conservative Party of BC), Greg Reid (Independent) and Christopher Hergesheimer (Green Party of BC) were asked the following question:

Why should voters in the Powell River-Sunshine Coast riding choose you to represent them as their MLA in Victoria?

Here is the response from Randene Neill (BC NDP):

I’ve spent my career fighting to give people a voice, hold power to account and most importantly, tell the truth in a fair and balanced way.

We’re moving forward in a time of polarity and division. We need to work together to solve issues that are important to this community, whether it’s affordability, lack of housing, health care or climate change. We can’t move forward to meet our goals unless we do it together.

I will work nonstop to push for more resources for Powell River-Sunshine Coast to keep our communities a safe, affordable, welcoming place to live.

When we love something, we want to take care of it. I will give it my all to take care of this place we love, together.
