BC Ferries has modified the Queen of Surrey's schedule Nov. 7 to accommodate Sunshine Coast-Horseshoe Bay passengers affected by Queen of Cowichan cancellations due to weather.
The Queen of Surrey will sail:
- 6:30 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
- 7:35 p.m. departing Langdale
- 8:40 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay
- 9:50 p.m. departing Langdale
- 10:55 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay.
BC Ferries has cancelled the day's Queen of Cowichan and Queen of Oak Bay sailings due to "adverse weather conditions," according to the ferry service.
Cancelled between Horsesehoe Bay and Nanaimo Nov. 7 are the:
- 6:15 a.m. from Departure Bay
- 6:15 am from Horseshoe Bay
- 8:25 a.m. from Horseshoe Bay
- 8:25 am out of Departure Bay
- 10:40 a.m. from Departure Bay
- 10:40 am out of Horseshoe Bay
- 1 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay
- 1:00 p.m. from Departure Bay
- 3:20 p.m. from Departure Bay
- 3:45 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay
- 5:55 p.m. from Departure Bay
- 10:10 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay
The Queen of Cowichan's cancelled between the Sunshine Coast and Horseshoe Bay Nov. 7 are the:
- 5:30 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 6:40 p.m. from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
- 7:50 p.m. from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 8:55 p.m. from Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for the southern sections of Howe Sound, predicting "Strong outflow winds from early [Monday] morning through Wednesday morning," with northerly winds of 60 km/hr, gusting to 90 km/hr.
"The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us, and we will keep you informed as more information becomes available," said the ferry notice. "We apologize for any inconvenience as a result of these sailing cancellations."
So far, there are no sailing cancellations listed between Tsawwassen and Vancouver Island listed on the BC Ferries service notices page.
