The 56th Annual Halfmoon Bay Fair had only been open for an hour by 1 p.m., July 14, but it was already buzzing with excited children, dozens of folks in lawn chairs taking in a prop-filled, exuberant children’s play followed by live music by Them Ordinary Things, the Muse and more, lively bingo games and delicious smash burgers and hot dogs prepared by enthusiastic volunteers.
The marketplace was also busy, with more than 30 vendors selling everything from freshly baked bread and treats, to locally made clothing and purses, glassware, jewellery, hand-crafted art and more. Several service clubs were also on hand offering information on their non-profit’s community efforts.
A children’s Fun Zone was popular with the kids, as was the firetruck and equipment on loan from the Halfmoon Bay Fire Department. The sun also did its part in making the day a light-filled event full of fun, friends and family.
