Do you know an early childhood educator or a licensed family child-care provider who offers outstanding service to B.C. children and families? Do you know of a facility or individual that shows innovation in child-care programming? Does your local government support child-care excellence in your community? If so, nominate them for an Award of Excellence.
Nominations for the 2011 Child Care Awards of Excellence are now open. The awards recognize the exceptional contributions made regionally by early childhood educators and licensed family child-care providers across B.C.
This year, new categories have been included to recognize innovation and the important role municipalities and regional districts play in developing child-care initiatives for their communities.
Nominations are being accepted in the following categories:
* General (one award per MCFD region)
* Aboriginal (including the Lenora Pritchard Award of Excellence)
* Innovation
* Municipal/Regional Government
All nominations must be received by Friday, March 11. Winners will be announced in May, Child Care Month in British Columbia.

Award of Excellence, visit: www.mcf.gov.bc.ca/childcare/awards/index.htm. There, you will find two different nomination forms - one for the General, Aboriginal or Innovation Award categories and another for the Municipal/Regional Government Award category.
