Two early morning Malaspina Sky crossings between Powell River and the Sunshine Coast have been cancelled for September 4 due to an insufficient number of crew members being available.

The following September 4 sailings will not run: 5:35 am departing Saltery Bay (Powell River); 6:30 am departing Earls Cove (Sunshine Coast)

BC Ferries made the announcement at 1:30 pm on September 3.

Other sailings on the route are expected to proceed as scheduled on September 4, according to BC Ferries, starting with the 7:25 am departure from Saltery Bay and continuing with the 8:20 am return from Earls Cove.

In the announcement, BC Ferries stated that if circumstances change and replacement crew become available, the customers will be notified immediately.

The latest cancellations follow several previous long weekend sailings on the same route that did not run on September 2 and 3.
