A mechanical issue with the Queen of Cowichan's main engine has led to a modified schedule between Horseshoe Bay and Langdale as well as Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay Monday, Jan. 13.
"A service technician has been sourced and is on route to assess the issue. An update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available," said a service notice issued at 5:14 p.m.
Cancelled are:
- 5:30 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 6:40 pm departing Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
- 7:50 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 8:55 pm departing Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
- 10:10 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay
Instead, Route 3 (Sunshine Coast-Horseshoe Bay) will follow a modified schedule, sailing:
- 6:30 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 7:30 pm departing Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
- 8:40 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
- 9:35 pm departing Langdale to Horseshoe Bay
- 10:55 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Langdale
Also modified is the Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay route, with ships instead sailing
- 8:05 pm departing Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay
- 10:10 pm departing Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay
"For those customers travelling on to Powell River, when onboard your sailing from Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) to Langdale (Sunshine Coast) you can speak with the Chief Steward to ask for confirmation on whether the sailing is being held for transfer traffic. Please check our Sunshine Coast Service Notices for updates," said the notice.
