A mechanical difficulty with the #2 thruster on Island Aurora, which cancelled several sailings between Westview (Powell River) – Blubber Bay (Texada Island) today, October 11, has been repaired. Service resumed with a 3 pm departure from Blubber Bay.

The following earlier round trips were cancelled:

6 am departing Blubber Bay
6:50 am departing Westview
7:50 am departing Blubber Bay
8:35 am departing Westview
9:20 am departing Blubber Bay
10:20 am departing Westview
11:25 am departing Blubber Bay
12:15 pm departing Westview

A six-person and a 12-person water taxi provided service between Westview terminal and the Texada Boat Club until the repairs were made.

"We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations," stated BC Ferries.

For customers who were affected, BC Ferries is referring them to its compensation policy. Receipts must be provided for compensation consideration.
