On March 17 at 7 p.m., Anne Miles of Gibsons is scheduled to read her poem, "Under a Swarm of Stars," the winning entry of the Cecelia Lamont Literary Contest, at the White Rock Library. Miles learned of the contest through the Federation of BC Writers. Speaking of her win, she says, "It's the best poem I've written. I'm pleased it's being appreciated."
Miles is a writer of passion and purpose who has honed her craft over many years. Local residents have most often seen her name in the Letters to the Editor section of Coast Reporter. She has also contributed to Artistry, the joint newsletter of the Sunshine Coast Arts Council, the Coast Cultural Alliance and the Coast Recital Society, and in 2003 she was published in The Fed Anthology: Brand New Fiction and Poetry from the Federation of BC Writers, a compilation of the best works of BC writers.
