Holy Crap to compete for business award

Brian and Corin Mullins, makers of Holy Crap cereal and local celebrities after their appearance on the Dragons' Den, have just been nominated for a Successful You Award through Small Business BC.

Brian and Corin Mullins, makers of Holy Crap cereal and local celebrities after their appearance on the Dragons' Den, have just been nominated for a Successful You Award through Small Business BC.

They were nominated under the Best Concept Award category and will find out if they have won on March 29 at an awards ceremony in Vancouver.

But before the winners are announced, the Mullins will need to present a 10-minute pitch followed by a question and answer period led by the judges on Feb. 15.

The Mullins will be joined on stage by Boston Pizza billionaire Jim Treliving and the executive producer of the Dragons' Den TV show during their pitch.

"I think they are using us as the poster children for next year's show," Brian commented, adding the excitement of the Dragons over getting in on the Mullins' business was unprecedented on the show.

The all-star panel will be a wealth of information for other entrepreneurs in attendance at the awards, and Brian is happy to share any information that can help others succeed.

The local couple are excited about the award nomination and hope to bring home the win on March 29.

"I think its fantastic. It goes to show what can be done if you're in the right community. It's quite an honour," Brian said.

Corin was surprised at the nomination, but thankful for the recognition.

"It is a great honour, but I was really surprised. We just keep making cereal and that's all we do," she added.
