During director's reports delivered at the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) board meeting of April 27, Sechelt area director John Henderson announced he is stepping back from his SCRD role.
Coun. Darren Inkster will take over the role of one of the two District of Sechelt representatives on the board alongside director Coun. Alton Toth, said Henderson. The change comes into effect on May 1.
Henderson, who joined the board after being elected as Sechelt's mayor in the 2022 local government elections, said he will continue to serve as an alternate area director. He made his intention to serve as an SCRD director for six months known during the District of Sechelt's inaugural meeting last November, which he said then was to address water supply issues on the Coast.
